New radio mandatory zones (RMZ) and transponder mandatory zones (TMZ)

Dear member,

The IAA has issued two new Aeronautical Notices.

A change under legal Direction has taken place with immediate effect in the airspace around Sligo and Waterford airports in that the airspace which is classified as Class G outside the hours of operation of an air traffic control service, is hereby designated as a radio mandatory zone (RMZ) and a transponder mandatory zone (TMZ) when an aerodrome flight information service (AFIS) is provided. A NOTAM will be issued and an AIC with AIP updates will follow in due course.

Please find attached (link below) R Notice No 4 issue 2 and R Notice No 7 issue 1 where the RMZ and TMZ dimensions, with conditions for VFR/IFR flights, are detailed.
